Kesselring, Patricia J. “Patti”

Patricia J. Kesselring “Patti”. Passed away peacefully from the arms of her loving family into the arms of her loving Savior, on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the age of 84.

Patti is survived by her daughter, Susan Bell (Brian), and son, Stephen (Kim), grandchildren, John LaComba (Jess), Christopher LaComba, Cory Kesselring (Irene), Justin Kesselring (Meg), and Karlee Kesselring; brother, Dr. Richard Dyer of CT, neices, Heather  Woodring (Stuart), Amy Dyer (Matt Cain), nephew, Rusty Dyer, Great nieces and nephews, Jessie and Sam Woodring, Conor Dawson, Sophia and Jamison Dyer, cousins, Missy Stevens & Cyprian Stevens, and her dear friend, Janet Smith.

Patti was a lifelong resident of Fairport, active in High Hopes and The Settlers groups.  She was a retired RN as well as a real estate agent. She loved to bowl, play cards, travel, tennis and golf.  She spent her childhood summers in Craigville Beach, Cape Cod, passing that love of the Cape on to her children when she would bring them there, every July for the month while she cared for her Aunt. In the past 3 years, Patti accompanied her daughter back to the cape twice for stays at her beloved Craigville Beach. In 2018, she accompanied her family on a once in a lifetime vacation to The Outer Banks, where she spent 7 happy days which included all 5 of her grandchildren. Her greatest joy was found in time spent with her family and friends. She will be forever missed.

The family wishes to particularly thank Myra Martin, LPN, for her kind care of Patti over the past 3 years.  Myra was instrumental in helping Susan care for and keep Patti in the home she loved in Fairport for as long as possible, prior to Patti moving in with her daughter and son-in-law in Rochester last summer. Special thanks, also, to The Highlands Day Center for the care & joy and smiles they brought to Mom over the past 7 months.

Calling hours will be held Friday, February 7, 2020 4-7PM at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home (Egypt Location) 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Rd., Fairport. Funeral Mass Saturday, February 8, 2020 11AM at St. John of Rochester Church (8 Wickford Way, Fairport). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Patti’s honor to The Highlands Living Center, attn: Finance 500 Hahnemann Tr., Pittsford, NY or to the Alzheimer’s Association of Rochester.

Patti was a wonderful person. She was always there to help anyone in need. For many years we played bridge at the rec center and listened to the different bands. She was such a fun person she made sure I joined Settlers in Fairport. I will miss you Patti. There is a new star in the heavens.!!!

Dear Family, Your mom was a wonderful realtor – she and I worked together on several transactions but it was her fun-loving spirit that I remember the most. She loved her family and was a joy to be with. She will be missed.

Kim and family- I first met Patti as a realtor when she listed our home in Chili. After an open house, my son came home to find his fish dead. True to Patti’s kind heart she diligently went in a search to find a replacement for the beloved fish. Just a few years later, I was blessed to work side by side as a ob nurse with Patti at Strong Memorial. I will always cherish the guidance she gave me as a young nurse and the sand dollars she hand painted for my family. After her retirement as a nurse, our friendship continued on the Fairport Packers sidelines. She loved watching Justin play football and Karlee as a cheerleader. She was my mentor, my friend and she has left such an imprint on my life. Her smile is iconic and she will be missed. Another friend passed away on the same day and I am comforted knowing Patti will be there with him.

I knew Patti as an OB/GYN resident in the late 90s at Strong Hospital. She was a kind care-provider and kind person to those of us new to the OB/GYN service. Her smile was a pleasure to see and it conveyed the lovely spirit she had.

To all of Patti’s family: The picture of Patti is exactly as I remember her with that big, warm smile. When I was dating Jim and first introduced to the Kesselring side of the family, I have always remembered Patti for her warmth and kindness to me at that time. She made me feel like a member of the family immediately. Sending my sincere condolences to all of you. God Bless,

Dear Leo, Susie and Steve, my deepest sympathy to you and all in the family. This is your old Thayer Road neighbor Jim Kester. I remember Patti as so talented, gregarious and caring. She was a great neighbor, as were you all. Though I was only 16 years of age when we moved and I last saw you all, many of our neighbor visits are fresh in my mind. I moved my young family back to Fairport in 2014, after retiring from the Army and my final Pentagon assignment. My dear Dad, Gordon and Mom, Mary passed in 2003 and 2005 respectively after retiring to DE. May God bless you all and please know that I know that there is a special place in Heaven for dear Patti.
