So sorry to hear of Barry’s passing. When I worked at Gannett, Barry came to my rescue a few times when I wasn’t feeling well. He was always so calm and that helped a lot, especially when people were milling about, not sure of what to do. Hope that he got to enjoy his retirement years.

Barry was a gentleman and a professional. When the Gannett Building really was a place, he was its protector and friend, and consequently a protector and a friend to all of us who worked there. God bless his memory and family.

Barry was a wonderful classmate at Bishop Kearney High School! Very friendly and kind! it is so amazing, life it just a blink…. I last saw him at our High School graduation in 1966 over 56 years ago.
May Barry be with the Lord and rest in Peace.

Barry you are now reunited with your family in heaven, you were a main part of my career at Gannett we worked hand and hand through many company situations and you always came to the forefront with great ideas to solve problems. Your legacy will live on even though you are gone. My friend until we meet again and thank you for all your life’s accomplishments.
Your long time friend Chris Uhl

Back in the mid-80s, I fell on a slippery floor at Gannett very early one morning. Barry came to my rescue, escorted me to the nurse’s office, and stayed with me over an hour. He was correct when he suggested I had severely broken my wrist. I will always remember the kindness shown by Barry and Nurse Marge Spry, who also passed recently. May you each rest in peace.
