Gail Lyle passed away peacefully on Monday, November 7, 2022, at the age of 82. She is survived by her husband, Robert Lyle Sr.; her children, Robert Lyle Jr., Michael (Susan) Lyle, Kimberly Lyle, Scott (Irene) Lyle; as well as her grandchildren, Robert (Meghan), Megan, Tyler, Jordan, Jake, Kylie, Nicholas, and Lucy to whom she was affectionately known as Grandma or Nana.

Gail was born and raised in the City of Rochester, New York, and attended Monroe High School, graduating in 1958. Upon graduating, Gail married the love of her life Robert “Bob” Lyle, to whom she remained married to for over 63 years. After building a home in Chili, New York, and raising their 4 children, Gail went to night school at Monroe Community College, graduating from Nursing school as an RN in 1977. Gail went on to work at the Genesee Hospital in downtown Rochester as well as other medical services for over 15 years.

In addition to raising her children and working as a Nurse, Gail enjoyed camping with her family, gardening in her yard, and walking the beaches hand-in-hand with Bob during their retirement. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who were the joys of her life. Gail was also a big fan of Disney and frequented the parks in Florida and California as often as she could. Having lived in the town of Chili for the bulk of her adult life, Gail also became a strong advocate for the community, raising awareness of the crucial environmental function of the wetland areas.

Calling Hours will be on Saturday, December 3, from 10-12pm, with a funeral service from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at Richard H Keenan Funeral Home (Egypt Location) 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport.

Gail will be missed. We were her neighbors in N. Myrtle Beach. She watched are children grow into adults and was always so excited to hear of their continued progress through the years.

I worked with Gail at The Genesee Hospital and we became friends. She had a baby shower for me at her home. We lost touch through the years but I will always remember her kindness. God bless you and lift you up out of sadness ?

My husband Larry and I are Gail and Bob’s neighbors in North Myrtle Beach and I knew their son, Mike, when we were school kids. Gail was an intelligent, caring and attentive person who clearly loved and was proud of her children and grandchildren. Gail and Bob’s marriage of 63 years was a testament to their devotion to each other. We are praying for Bob and his family for strength and peace in the coming days and will always miss Gail.
