Fairport: Continuing his spiritual journey Saturday May 31, 2014. Predeceased by his parents, William C. Mayer and Dorothy Atwood Mayer. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Marjorie W. Mayer; 3 children, Lisa (David) Jones, Suzanne Mann and William M. Mayer; 5 grandchildren, Kevin, Megan and Rachael Jones, Madison and Reagan Mayer; brother, Richard (Gaye) Mayer; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Bill was a graduate of West High School, Clarkson College of Technology and RIT, served as a Lt. in the U.S. Army, retired from Xerox. Past Commander of Iroquois Sail & Power Squadron and was very active in his church.

No prior calling hours. A Service will he held Thursday 6:30 PM at the RICHARD H. KEENAN FUNERAL HOME, 7501 PITTSFORD PALMYRA ROAD (EGYPT LOCATION). In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to First Church of Christ. Scientist, 1104 Main Street, East Rochester, NY 14445.

    I was shocked to read of Bill’s passing. He was also so full of life and a enjoy to be around. I will truly miss Bill and the United States Power Squadron has lost another great member.
