Maria Rose “Mia” (Maxwell) McNamara, 56, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 9th, 2023. Mia was born in Frankfurt, Germany on December 29, 1966, to Ramona (Hempfling) Maxwell and Nick Lopuchowyz. She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) McNamara III, her dad, Robert D. Maxwell and her stepmother Betty Lopuchowyz.  She is survived by her children Joshua (Kara) McNamara of Alvaton, KY; and Hannah McNamara of Lexington, KY; her mother, sisters, Tara (Chris) Elliott of Lexington, KY; Robin (John) Hudson of Nonesuch, KY; and brother, Robert “Ryan” (Danielle) Maxwell of Union, KY. She is the proud grandmother of three grandchildren: Stella McNamara, Kennedy McNamara, and Harrison McNamara, as well as the aunt to Clayton Maxwell Elliott, Katherine “Gracie” Elliott, Mikayla Schornack, and Olivia Schornack. 

Mia had tremendous faith.  Despite many health problems in recent months, she was always grateful despite her circumstances.  Mia had the gift of connecting with people from all walks of life.  She became a confidant, sounding board, and prayer partner to countless people.  One of her proudest accomplishments was being able to walk the Camino de Santiago through Spain where she made friendships with people from all over the world.  She is loved by and will be missed by many.
