Place, James L. “Jim”

Caledonia: Formerly of Fairport. Jim passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the age of 70 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 13, 1947 in Oneonta, NY. Predeceased by his parents, Ivan and Alice Place. He is survived by his devoted partner, Jean Schofield; his beloved beagle, Molly; his daughter, Christine (Donald) Jones; his grandchildren, John and Alyson Pikuritz; his sister, Ivanne (Anthony) Cassano; his brothers, Robert (Jean) Place and John (Lori) Place; many nieces and nephews. Jim easily made friends and will be remembered for his ready smile and humorous “jabs”. (https://subta.com) In his later years he truly enjoyed woodcrafting and particularly making wooden toys for children and traveling and participating in craft shows with Jean.

Family and friends are invited to a Reception celebrating Jim’s life to be held on Monday, July 3rd from 7 PM – 9 PM at White Brook Nature Area, 250 Aldrich Road, Fairport, NY 14450.
