Jeanne was the kindest, most humble, and most compassionate person I have ever known . I was blessed to have her as my college roommate for four years. She had a gift of making everyone around her feel comfortable and loved. She added years to those under her care. God bless Jeanne and her beloved husband, son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. You are my forever Roomie. Until we meet again, know that I love you and always will.
Thank you so much Lee for taking such good care of her and for loving her so dearly.

My earliest, childhood memories of Jeanne and her brothers and Dad are full of fun. I knew that visiting Uncle Willard’s and being with my cousins was going to be a lot of laughter and caring, good times. Jeanne, who was two years older than I, was gentle yet strong, smart and intuitive about many things, especially helping people and always putting others ahead of herself. And she led a brave fight against cancer, not letting it dim her zest for life and her loved ones. I know that Heaven got a lot brighter when she arrived up there with her beautiful smile and loving spirit! My sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with you Lee, Chad, John, Bruce, and your families for your loss of Jeanne. She was an inspiration to all of us who knew her and were touched by her. I will miss my cousin.
    love, Joannie (Phillips) Johnson

Lee, please accept our deepest sympathies for the loss of your wife. While we only knew Jeanne through our visits to your ice cream shop, She left an everlasting impression on both of us. A more kind, gentle, hospitable person would be hard to find. We truly enjoyed our brief conversations with her. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I worked with Jeanne at Fairport Baptist Homes for a short time, but you didn’t have to know Jeanne long to enjoy her friendly, warm personality. She was dearly loved here, and will be just as dearly missed.

Lee, the legacy your dear wife has left for our community is priceless. She deserves the credit for development of the Elder Bus and the SOFI programs. It was her early identification of transportation as the number one need for the isolated seniors living in their own homes. This provided the incentive to develop the Elder Bus program . She then provided the “guiding light” for the Senior Options For Independence program that gives advice to help seniors access various programs available by multiple agencies. Jeanne’s gentle, compassionate, caring touch has affected so many hundreds of seniors and their families in Fairport and Perinton. May she rest in peace. Mary and Sars McNulty

We were so very sorry to hear that Jeanne lost her courageous battle. We were unaware that she had passed because we had cancelled our newspaper shortly before Christmas. Jeanne was one of the finest people our family has known. Lee when you started dating and would come up with your sense of humor, she would always smile and laugh! . She exemplified what a wonderful life partner. should be. We are truly sorry for your loss and that we were not there with you at this time. We tried to get in touch but when we approached the store, it was closed and we did not have any way of contact.

    To the Read Family:
I am so sorry to hear about Jeanne’s passing. As a former Resident Services Coordinator, I have known her and Vickie for several years from our local meetings and State conferences. She was a sweet and sensitive person who had a lot of common sense. I also enjoyed going to the ice cream store. I hope she rests in peace.
