William Meahl Riesman was born October 1, 1952 in Rochester, New York. He was the first child of Meahl and Arlyne Riesman. Bill was raised in Pittsford, New York attending St. Louis Elementary School. He went to McQuaid High School.
In 1973 he enlisted in the US Navy. He was discharged in 1975 and returned to the Rochester area.
Bill was a member of The Sheetmetal Workers Union Local 46 for twenty-five years. He worked for Postler & Jaeckle for most of his career. He retired in 2012.
Bill married Linda Jackson from Penfield, New York. Their daughter, Rachel, was born September 6, 1988. Jacob, their son, was born June 27, 1991. They raised their family in Palmyra, New York
Bill was a devoted husband and father. A lover of baseball who coached his son’s teams was also true Yankees fan.
Bill is survived by his family including his granddaughter, Violet, his sister, Amy Woessner, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bill passed quietly and courageously after a brief battle with cancer on Sunday March 12, 2017.
There will be a gathering to honor Bill at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, 7501 Pittsford-Palmyra Road, Fairport, New York on Friday, March 17th from 6-8pm. Please come to offer condolences and stories. If you cannot attend please leave a message for the family at this web site.
