She was born on May 20, 1942. While in high school she worked at a bakery. After graduating from Rochester’s Franklin high school in 1961, she attended the Rochester Business Institute. She graduated from their 1-year secretarial program in 1962 and took a job at Rochester Savings Bank. She worked in the back office as a mail teller until after she was married and became pregnant with her first child. She spent the next several years raising her two children, and helping Art with the bookkeeping of the Dive Hut scuba shop they co-owned with friends. In 1975, she faced her fear of swimming, took lessons and became scuba certified. She went on many dives, even exploring a shipwreck in the 1000 Islands. Shortly after her children started attending school she went to work part-time as an elementary school cafeteria lady in Fairport. She worked there for over 30 years before retiring. She loved participating in the annual Fairport Village Scarecrow competition with her cafeteria co-worker friends. She also competed in a bowling league, pistol shooting and won a chili cook-off at Wilkins RV. Other activities she cherished included water aerobics at the Perinton Rec Center, camping in the 1000 Islands during the summers and spending time with family and friends. She was a sweet, soft-spoken lady, who always had a smile on her face and a sparkle in her eye. She was a quiet listener who will be missed by many.

Karen and Derek- I am so sorry to learn of your loss. Your mother was always such a lovely person to know and always had a smile to share.
My dear sweet cousin. Always a smile on her face, always a kind word. Though we lived far apart you always did and always will have a special place in my heart.
Karin and Derek, so very sorry to hear about your sweet Mother. She always had a lovely smile and cared about others. I enjoyed talking with her in the cafeteria.
My condolences to Marion’s family. She and Art had such an eventful life together, They enjoyed life and family to the fullest and that is what is important. I have been away from
family for many years but I do have memories of when we were younger. Fond memories indeed. Now I am at Parkwood Heights Senior Community enjoying my last few years in Macedon.
Peace be with you
