Talty, Patrick J.
Patrick J Talty, passed away peacefully on November 17th, 2022,at the age of 89. He was born on February 9th, 1933, to Francis P Talty and Margaret A Talty in Buffalo NY. After graduatingfrom Bishop Timon High School in 1952, he went on to earn degrees in Economics and Philosophy at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY.
After college, Pat met his future bride, Martha Brendel in Birmingham, AL and married on December 7th, 1957. Pat was a natural salesman. He used his outgoing personality along with the knowledge he gained in multiple industries to follow his entrepreneurial spirit to start his own sales agency in 1977. That business is now in its’ 3rd generation as Pat’s sons and some of his grandsons have followed in his footsteps.
Pat was predeceased by his parents, brothers Don, Tom and Fran Talty, survived by his wife of 65 years, Marthy, his three sons Patrick (Joann) Talty Jr., Tim (Barb) Talty, Mike (Jen) Talty; daughters Lisa (Joe) Winter, Kelly (Greg) Stewart; eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, brother Dick (Betty) Talty and sister Marge (Kent) Klima.
Pat had a passion for living his best life! He loved and adored his family and was a devout Catholic. Pat picked up the game of golf at the ripe old age of 27 and quickly became a diehard. He eventually joined Oak Hill CC where he not only played golf but met many of his dearest friends. He was also a car enthusiast and avid Buffalo Bills fan until his final days.
All family and friends are invited to Pat’s funeral mass on Thursday December 1st at 10:30 am at Church of the Assumption, 20 East Ave, Fairport NY 14450. It may also be live-streamed at
All are invited to the Memorial Service / Celebration of Life luncheon immediately following the service at approx. 12:00 pm (location to be announced at the service).
Many thanks go out to the Glenmere memory care staff for providing outstanding and loving care for Pat and our entire family over the past year. Additional thanks go to the Highland Hospital staff for their great care in his final hours. Pat was my mentor and a dear friend. He will be missed by many friends and family.

Pat was a great friend and supplier for my old company KeepRite Products Ltd. In Canada.
He had a great entrepreneurial spirit and taught me many life lessons along the way during my career.
Although we have not been in contact for years he will always be in my thoughts through our mutual friend Phil Weintraub.

What I rememberabout Pat: never play golf with money on the line ‘cause he’l bust you. Never try to out-business him ‘cause he’ll out-bisiness you. Never talk family ‘cause family was his life. . Never talk personal accomplishment ‘cause his was far and beyond’.
Haha, loved your comment about Dad on the golf course. He used to take my money all the time 🙂 and I always told him he would probably not live long enough for me to get it all back! He even took me in a putting contest last year at our club at 88 years young! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
Pat will be missed. I always thought of him as one of the good people I missed from Rochester after my transfer with Fasco to Missouri.

First, my condolences to the family. Now, this may be a long shot, but I think there may be a connection here somewhere. My father – Anthony J. (Jack) Talty was born in Buffalo, NY in 1901 (passed in `1960). His parents were John and Anna (they are buried in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Warsaw, NY). John passed in 1935 and Anna in 1933. My dad had 1 brother (Carl) who lived in Rochester, NY (wife was Rose). Any possibility? Again, my condolences to the family.

remember most about you .
First, how are you Loved a joke, both telling them and hearing them., and you always had one at the ready.
Second, how are you loved to compete on the golf course. Sure, you loved to win, but you loved to compete even more!
third, how important your faith was to you. it was always great seeing you and Marthy at church.

So sorry for your loss. Pat was a great friend and a perfect gentleman. He called on me for years at Singer/ McQuay. I remember trips with him to visit suppliers. One special memory was when he invited me and my wife to dinner at Oak Hill. When we arrived he met us before we got out of the car and apologized because he found out the Governor had acbanquet scheduled there and we had to go elsewhere. We always had a good time with Pat. Glad to see his business was continued by his family members. Always looked forward to the day he scheduled a visit to Auburn.

Pat and Don were regulars at 6:45 am Mass at Assumption. We met there daily worshiping in the Chapel. We connected due to my South Buffalo roots. Large South Buffalo family steeped in Mt Mercy Academy and Bishop Timon. Along with our Irish Heritage, golf was also a talk of our after mass chats along with one of his JOKES! My hubby was as witty as Pat! He talked so genuinely about his beautiful family. I feel privileged to know him even in his later years. Certainly a man of faith. We will miss him. It has been many years since I had any involvement with Pat, but, I always remember our dealings while I was with Xerox Corporate Procurement in Webster. He was always honest and straight forward. It was a pleasure dealing with him. Best said, “ Pat was a good man”
