LaPera, Arlene, Ethel Speedy

Arlene Ethel Speedy LaPera (née McMahon), born on the 12th of January, 1934, departed from this life on the 16th of April, 2024, at the age of 90, in the comfort of her home in Fairport, New York, surrounded by her loving children

Arlene was the cherished matriarch of her family, a woman of unwavering strength and nurturing love. Her presence was a guiding light to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She took immense pleasure in the simple joys of life, finding delight in her culinary endeavors, the invigorating practice of water aerobics, and the adventures found in travel.

Above all, Arlene was devoted to her family, creating a legacy of cherished traditions and memories that will be treasured for generations.

She leaves behind a family who adored her, including her husband, Richard LaPera, her children Charles Speedy(Tracy), James Speedy(Gina), Thomas Speedy, and Sandra Speedy-Keeler (Kenneth), as well as her beloved grandchildren James Speedy Jr., Matthew Speedy, Arley Speedy, Baylee Keelee, Chloe Keeler, Jacob Speedy, Samantha Speedy, and Mark Speedy , and her great-grandchildren Lydia Coleman, Sarah Speedy, Rosie Speedy and Nino Speedy.

Her memory will also be fondly remembered by her stepchildren Richard LaPera Jr., Missy Avazis (Steven), Stephen LaPera (Tarra), and her step-grandchildren Ellie, Joseph, Ryan, Michael, Zachary, Brendan, and Andrew.

Preceding her in death were her first loving husband, Charles A. Speedy, her parents, Ethel and Michael McMahon, her sister Gail Jackson, and her brother Michael A. McMahon.

Arlene’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith, love, and the strong bonds of family. She will be deeply missed and she will forever be the heart and soul of her family.

May Arlene Ethel Speedy LaPera rest in eternal peace, her memory a blessing to all who knew her.
